WHAT IS VELASHAPE™

VelaShape™ is an FDA approved device for body contouring, temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite and firming of problem areas. Our Sculptra Body Contouring program consists of 8 weekly visits, lasting between 30-60 minutes, depending on the size and number of areas you want treated.

VelaShape™ is a non-invasive therapy to reduce body circumference, with no down-time or recovery needed post-treatment. You may continue your regular activities of daily living and exercise right after finishing your treatment. VelaShape™ uses a combination of safe and effective therapies to achieve results. It is effective on all skin types and colors. Performed to your tolerance, the treatment should be comfortable and pain-free.

Results from VelaShape™ treatment are progressive and cumulative. In other words a gradual reduction in circumference and in the appearance of cellulite occurs with each session. Usually we can measure improvements with each session and visible results begin to appear in as few as 4 visits. With each treatment you may notice a steady improvement in skin smoothness, texture, firmness and size reduction.

VelaShape™ uses a combination of technologies to achieve results, called “elos™”. Radio frequency waves create a deep heat whose intensity can be adjusted to meet your comfort levels, while achieving a deep heating of the subcutaneous tissues. Infrared light energy acts synergistically to gently warm the tissues to the target treatment temperature of between 104-107 degrees Fahrenheit (about the temperature of a typical Jacuzzi). These therapies are enhanced by the simultaneous use of mechanical actions of vacuum suction and roller massaging, which helps improve circulation and lymphatic drainage of the treated area. The resulting benefit is an increase in the metabolism of stored energy (fat), improved lymphatic drainage and reduction in the size of subcutaneous fat cells.

VelaShape™ may be used on the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, love handles and arms.

PROVEN NON-SURGICAL RESULTS

A clinical study of women post-pregnancy showed that there was an average circumferential reduction of 2.3” on the buttocks, 1” on the thighs and 2.9” on the abdomen with 5 weekly treatments. During this period the weight of the participants did NOT change significantly, showing that the results achieved were solely attributable to the VelaShape™ treatment. (Imagine how much better the results would have been if patients had been simultaneously placed on a weight loss program!).
